Care
We provide assistance in various areas
The Individual
Gettting to know the individual resident is the most important part of caregiving. Before any care plans are even thought about, we take the time to get to know the individual as a person. What are their likes and dislikes, what are their favorite shows or movies, what makes them the happiest? At Rebecca's, its the little things that matter in this big world. And for a resident just moving into a facility, their world just got a whole lot bigger and more confusing. So we take the time to know each individual to allow us to make them feel more comfortable.
Care
After getting to know the individul, it is now time for us to get creative with the care planning process. We do this with three basic components. The Care Icon above shows two hands holding a heart. The heart symbol is our resident and your loved one, the one hand represents our staff and the other represents you the family. It is imperative that we use and communicate with all three componets to ensure that the care plans put into place are the best possible for the resident. After communcating with family, other staff and most importantly the resident, we will put together a care plan for our staff to follow. This will include what outside agencies, if any, are to be assisting with care needs, and how our staff should be tailoring thier care to your loved on. These care plans are updated constantly because needs can change very quickly.
Dietary
The dietary department at Rebecca's plays an important role in our residents care, afterall we know what a good meal can do for the soul. Good home cooking can not only cheer up a resident, but can make them feel more at home. We serve three hot meals per day, however our meal times are set back to breakfast at 9:00, lunch at 1:00 and dinner at 6:00. We do this to give the residents more time in the morning hours to get around and ready for the day. Also with the evening meal being served at 6:00, this tends to hold them over longer through the night. We also serve the larger meal of the day at luch time instead of dinner. We have found that residents sleep better when not so full from a larger meal in the evening.
Coffee, tea, milk and water are available at every meal and we balance our meals with protiens, vegetables, carbohydrates and dairy. We use an five menu rotation, however the dietary staff are permitted to change the menu to have something special if they choose. Residents can also request different meals to be put on the menus.
